PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 21, 1987
The meeting was called to order by Dennis Miller, Chairman at
6:00 p.m. in the Airlake Council Chambers.
Roll call of members was taken. Present: Whitehouse,
Langhorst, MacGibbon, Miller, WHittingham, Walters. Absent:
Sizer.
Also in attendance was Alan Brixius, City Planner, Jim
Robinette, Community Development Director, Baldev Josan,
Assistant Community Development Director.
The public hearing for a zoning district boundary amendment for
B-4 district located in northwestern Lakeville around I-35 - 50
interchange was opened. Alan Brixius described the amendment
proposed by the City as outlined in the Planner's report of
9/14/$7. There was no comment from the public.
87.68 Motion was made by MacGibbon, seconded by Langhorst, to close
the public hearing.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous.
87.69 Motion was made by Langhorst, seconded by Whitehouse to

l recommend approval of a zonin district boundary amendment for

The public hearing for consideration of a vacation of easement
for Land Surveyors, Inc. and Josef Douglass Custom Homes was
opened. Alan Brixius gave a review of the situation and
recommended approval as outlined in the Planner's report of
8/27/87. There was no comment from the public.
87.70 Motion was made by Walters, seconded by Whittingham, to close
the public hearing.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous.
87.71 Motion was made by Walters, seconded by MacGibbon, to recommend
approval of vacation of part of a drainage easement on Lot 20,
Block 3, Lake Villa Estates in accordance with the Planner's
report of August 27, 1987.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous.

The public hearing for consideration of a varianee for Good
Value Homes was .opened. Alan Brixius gave a review and
recommended approval subject to the recommendation in the
Planner's report of $j19/87.
$7.72 Motion was made by MacGibbon, seconded by Langhorst, to close
the public hearing.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes:. Unanimous.
87.73 Motion was made by Walters, seconded by MacGibbon to
recommend approval for a variance for a street right of way for
one cul-de-sac street for Good Value Homes subject to the
recommendation in the Planner's report of 8/19/87.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Whitehouse,
Langhorst, MacGibbon, Whittingham, Walters. Nays: Miller
The reason for Miller's nay was that he felt approval of this
motion-would be setting a precedent.
The final plat of Homestead Creek was discussed by Alan Brixius.
John Peterson of Good Value Homes was present to answer any
questions.
87.74 Motion was made by MacGibbon, seconded by Langhorst, to
recommend approval of the final plat of Homestead Creek and a
minor comprehensive plan amendment to include the final plat in
the 1990 Urban Serviee Area.
.Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous.
87.75 Motion was made by Langhorst, seconded by Walters, to adjourn
the meeting.
Voice vote was taken on the motion.
