HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-05-87 k . CITY OF LAKEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES NOVEMBER 5, 1987 The meeting was called to order by Dennis Miller, Chairman at 7:00 p.m. in the Airlake Council Chambers. Roll call of members was taken. Present: Whitehouse, Langhorst, Sizer, Miller, Whittingham and MacGibbon. Absent: Walters Also present was Alan Brixius, City Planner, Jim Robinette, Community Development Director and Mira Holliday, Recording Secretary. 87.85 Motion was made by Langhorst., seconded by Whittingham, to approve the minutes of the October 15, 1987 Planning Commission meeting. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Langhorst, Miller and MacGibbon. Abstain: Whitehouse, Sizer and Whittingham. The public hearing for a conditional use permit for Super America was continued from the October 15, 1987 meeting. Mr. Ray Connelly, representing Super America gave a review of the • plan and explained the reason for the new design which he stated had been submitted since the original application. Mr. Bud Kaupp of Super America presented pictures of other Super America stores as an example of the proposed plan. Bill Farris, of Super America, explained the location of fuel tanks. Mr. Whitehouse was not in agreement with the proposed location of the tanks and other options were discussed. Other issues such as signage and the service road were discussed. Alan Brixius stated that he had not received the revised site plan and if the Commission desired, he would provide a formal review at the next meeting. 87.86 Motion was made by MacGibbon, seconded by Sizer to continue the public hearing. Ro11 call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. The public hearing for a alley vacation for Karl Lutgens was opened. Jim Robinette attested that all legal notices had been duly published and mailed. Alan Brixius gave a review of the application and recommended approval. 87.87 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Whitehouse, to close the public hearing. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. • . 87.88 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Whitehouse, to recommend approval of an alley vacation for Karl Lutgens. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous.., The public hearing for the application of the City of Lakeville for an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 167, Section 9.22 adding provisions concerning the storage, display and sale of merchan- dise of public sidewalks within the City of Lakeville was opened. Jim Robinette attested that all legal notices had been duly published and mailed. Jim Robinette gave background infor- mation as to the reason for this proposed amendment. Discussion was held. 87.89 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Langhorst, to continue the public hearing pending clarification of wording in the ordi- nance. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. The public hearing for the application of the City of Lakeville for a zoning ordinance text amendment to provide for a Business Campus Zoning District was opened. Jim Robinette attested that all legal notices had been duly published and mailed. Alan Brixius gave a review of the proposal. Discussion was. held on such items as hours of business, lot requirement, snow plowing and storage problems, curb cuts and screened storage areas. 87.90 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Langhorst, to continue the public hearing pending further research and planning by the .City Planner. Ro11 call was taken on the motion. Ayes: Unanimous. 87.91 Motion was made by Sizer, seconded by Langhorst, to adjourn the meeting. Voice vote was taken on the motion..
