RESOLUTION APPROVING TIERED WATER RATE STRUCTURE
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as a condition of
granting a Water Appropriation permit, is requiring the City to adopt and implement effective
peak demand. reduction and .conservation measures, including. a conservation rate structure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,. by the City Council of the .City of
Lakeville, Minnesota that the following is .approved and adopted effective with all water
consumed in Billing Group 2 after May 15, 2004 and all water consumed after June 15, 2004
in Billing Group 1.
L Water Rates
A. Based on actual metered. gallons. consumed each quarter.
B. A basic water charge of $2.75 per quarter will be charged for all accounts. For
residential, multiple residential. and manufactured homes, the basic water charge shall be
based on the number of residential equivalent dwelling units.
C. Shall be $.84 per thousand gallons. for the first 30 thousand gallons and $1.00 per
..thousand .gallons in excess of 30 thousand gallons except as follows:
L Multifamily dwellings served by a single meter, shall. be charged $.84 per
thousand gallons for actual consumption based on the first 30 thousand gallons
times the number of dwelling units and $1.00 per thousand gallons for
consumption in excess of 30 thousand gallons times. the number of dwelling units.
2. Manufacturing customers will be $.84 per thousand gallons for consumption,
which is used exclusively for production.
D. Irri ation s rinkler accounts shall be billed. at $1..00 er thousand allons.

E. For those accounts whereby an accurate reading cannot be determined due to
faulty meter, water consumption _shall be established to be 18,000 gallons per quarter
per dwelling unit.
