DATED his 16th day of June, 2003. CITY OF LAKEVILLE, l~it,~__ Robert D. Joh on, Mayor EST: , Charlene Friedges, Ci leek. t a1 A • Y t h May 29, 2003 City of I,akevz7le Alts John >:Iemtcn John, I believe y~ have had discussions with Dave Turner, River Leag~xe Director of Lakeville Fastpitch, regarding the installation of new fencing at hold #9 at Aronson Park.. We believe that the existing fencing poses a dangerous anvit+ontnent ;for players.and spectators. Specifically, the dugouts do not protect players fmm foul bails and the height of the fence down each base line at four feet does not adequately protect .spectators. Given the growth of our fastpitch program, the need for fields is increasing cacti year. The Lakeville Fastpitcb Board of Directors has approved the fundin4g for new fencing for. this field so it meets our view of safety standards and will result in a field that is acceptable for play. We agreed to furni the cost of new, 8 foot fencing reaching 8U feet down each baseli~ at a cost of 53,685. I , understand tha# there is also a cost of approximately $700 in tnaterial to pmvide a cement base for the fencing.. We will pay for the mattrial cost, and the City will pay for labor as part of the project. While it is difficult to confirm, our expectation is to have this Feld work coxr~plete by June i3 in eime for our annual Lakeville Classic Tournament. Please let me Irnaw if you have any questions with tht conditions stated is this letter. Thanks John for working closely with Lakeville Fastpitch to provide quality facilities for our players- S' , Commissioner Lakeville Fastpitch SpBbaII ASSOCiatora Cc: Dave Turner
