HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-18-96CITY OF LAKEVILLE HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MEETING NOVEMBER 18, 1996 The meeting was called to order by Chair Johnson at 6:50 p.m. Roll call was taken. Present: Commissioners Johnson, Zaun, Sindt, Mulvihill, Holberg. Also present: B. Erickson, City Administrator; M. Sobota, Community & Economic Development Director; C. Friedges, City Clerk. ITEM 2 The minutes of the August 19, 1996, Housing and Redevelopment Authority meeting were approved as presented. ITEM 3 Mr. Sobota presented a resolution authorizing conveyance of remnant Parcel 14B from the County Road 46 improvement project to the City of Lakeville. The conveyance has been negotiated with Ashland, Inc. (SuperAmerica) as part of the overall redevelopment of the site. The transfer of Parcel 14B accomplishes the original objectives of the Cooperative Agreement with Dakota County to acquire right -of -way and dispose of remnant parcels. Mr. Sobota explained that as part of the negotiation process with SuperAmerica, the access was moved further to the north, allowing free traffic movements and improved safety on Kenrick Avenue at County Road 46. Mr. Erickson pointed out that the conveyance of remnant parcel 14B to the City of Lakeville is subject to City Council approval of the conditional use permit for SuperAmerica 3rd Addition, (agenda item No. 8 on the November 18th Council agenda). 96.4 Motion was made by Mulvihill, seconded by Sindt to approve Resolution No. 96- 4 authorizing conveyance of Parcel 1413, County Right -of -Way Map No. 146. Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, Zaun, Sindt, Mulvihill, Holberg, Johnson. There being no further business, Chair Johnson adjourned the HRA meeting at 6:55 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Liz Hoib rg, Secretary Bob Johns n, Chair MEMORANDUM TO: L AKEVILLE HRA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & COMMISSION MEMBERS�� /�I FROM: MICHAEL SOBOTA, DIRECTOR, COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC? /�V�l DEVELOPMENT DATE: NOVEMBER 15 1996 RE: RESOLUTION FOR CONVEYANCE OF REMNANT PARCEL Attached is a resolution prepared by the City Attorney authorizing conveyance of remnant parcel 14B to the City of Lakeville. The conveyance has been negotiated with Ashland, Inc. (SuperAmerica) as part of the overall redevelopment of the site outlined in the Development Contract between Ashland, Inc. and the City of Lakeville. The transferring of Parcel 14B accomplishes the original objectives of the Cooperative Agreement with Dakota County to acquire right -of -way and dispose of remnant parcels. 1) City staff was able to negotiate with SuperAmerica the extra long 260 -foot setback from County Road 46 for the access drive from Kenrick Avenue. This 260 -foot setback allows for free traffic movements and improved safety conditions. 2) Another part of the negotiation included the construction of the trail access to Oak Shores Park that will be constructed by SuperAmerica at no cost to the City.
