HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-08HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN AND FOR THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION Date November 16, 1998 Resolution No. Motion By Zaun Seconded By Mulvihill RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR THE LAKEVILLE AMES ARENA WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Lakeville was a party to and approved the Memorandum of Understanding on July 6, 1992; WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority issued $1,375,000 Ice Arena Lease Revenue Bonds Series 1992; WHEREAS, on October 20, 1997, the City Council approved Resolution 97 -239 Approving The Ice Arena and Financing For The Arena; WHEREAS, Independent School District 194 - Lakeville, on October 28, 1997, approved a Resolution Approving The Ice Arena and Financing; WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville issued $1,135,000 in General Obligation Ice Arena Bonds Series 1997B in December 1997; WHEREAS, the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission awarded a $250,000 Mighty Ducks Grant to the City of Lakeville; WHEREAS, the Lakeville Hockey Association has contributed the sum of $35,800 to pay the cost of issuing the General Obligation Ice Arena Bonds Series 1997B; WHEREAS, the Lakeville Hockey Association has paid $20,000 to the City of Lakeville to finance the preliminary architectural expenses related to the Ames Arena; WHEREAS, the City Council on April 6, 1998 approved the Architectural Services Agreement with DLR Group and the Construction Management Agreement with Kraus- Anderson; WHEREAS, the Lakeville Ames Arena Advisory Committee has met on a regular basis and has reviewed and recommended City Council approval of the Memorandum of Understanding relating to the construction, financing and operation of a second sheet of ice adjacent to the Lakeville Ames Arena. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority in and for the City of Lakeville, that the Memorandum of Understanding a copy attached hereto is hereby approved.
