Proposed Sale of Former Police Station Building
Proposed Action
Staff recommends Council act upon the following motion: Move to place
former police station building up for sale.
Passage of this motion will result in staff taking actions to market the property for
the purpose of selling it.
Overview
At the February 22, 2011 Council meeting Council Member LaBeau made a
motion to put the former police station up for sale. The motion was seconded by
Mayor Bellows.
The vote on the motion resulted in a 2 -2 tie. Council Member Rieb was not
present to vote. Under the Council's adopted Rules of Procedure, Section 4.9, If
a tie vote results at a time when less than all members of the Council are
present, the matter shall automatically be continued to the agenda of the next
regular meeting of the Council unless otherwise ordered by the Council ".
The City Attorney has reviewed the procedural question and has concurred that
the matter is to be on this agenda.
