A "Gran Fondo" portion is being introduced to the Ironman this year. A "Gran Fondo" is a mass start ride with each rider being issued a timing chip. There will be a 7:00 AM start time for the 100 mile route (up to 500 participants) and a 7:30 start time for the 68 mile route (up to 1,000 participants).
