MONTHLY REPORT

MARCH, 2011
• Expressions Community Theater started rehearsals for is spring production The Dixie
Swim Cub on March 1.
• The South Metro Chorale began rehearsal for its spring cabaret show on March 2. The
Chorale presented the program on March 4, 5 and 6.
• The Minnesota Photography Club held its monthly meeting at the LAAC on Thursday,
March 3.
• Applause Community Theatre started its rehearsal for Godspell on March 7. The
productions were presented eleven times between March 11 and 27.
• The Lakeville Police Department presented a marriage enrichment program for members
of the department each Friday evening during March.
• A focus group of senior citizens met in the LAAC lobby to discuss concerns about
housing.
• Lakeville Liquors presented a wine tasting event called the Wines of Argentina on
Wednesday, March 23.
• The Lakeville Youth Art Exhibit closed on March 15. Over 400 people visited the exhibit
during the two weeks it was open.
UPCOMING
• The Dixie Swim Club production will be presented by Expressions Community Theater on
April 8 -10 and 15 -17.
• Lorie Line and Her Fab Five will be performing at the Lakeville Area Arts Center on
Thursday, April 28.

• Assisted with feasibility to convert old police station into Senior Center

• Prepared chainsaws and chipper for tree trimming
• Prepared equipment for spring conversion
• Repaired ceiling in History Building from water damage
• Cleaned carpets at Prairie Lake, Parkview and North buildings
• Built one new hockey goal and rebuilt others
• Prepared and painted new barrels
• Built 30 new picnic tables
• Repaired and cleaned up vandalism at Foxborough
• Painted the inside of McGuire, Dakota Heights and Meadows warming houses and
interior doors at Parkview, Prairie Lake, North and Foxborough
• Repaired and painted equipment (i.e. Case skid steer engine door, Kubota box, Puppet
Wagon & Kromer)
• Performed inspections of heating buildings, LOA and Veterans Memorial
• Senior Center work orders
• Constructed ramp for I -35 fishing pier
• Installed new sink and drinking bubbler at Ritter ELC
Signs
• Built and installed directional sign —Vets Memorial / Designed parking sign— Aronson Park
Special Events
• Set up and cleaned after Ritter -Fest
STS
• Attended 2011 STS scheduling meeting in Apple Valley

SENIOR CENTER
MARCH, 2011
• Pickleball organizational meeting was held. The players are excited to begin playing in
May.
• Men's golf league had their organizational meeting and had several new members sign
up. The season begins on May 4.
• Two seminars, `Walking Your Way to Bladder & Bowel Health" and "Cost- Effective
Dental Plan" went over very well, with 15 -20 people attending each presentation.
• All tax assistance and legal advice appointments have been full.
• The Creative Writing Class is having a lot of fun writing a song for the "Dragonfly"
folksingers group, which is affiliated with the Dakota Symphony.
• Our exercise classes are growing by leaps and bounds!
• The Singles Club drove to Wabasha to see the eagles. They took the tour and thought it
was amazing.
• The Cooking Class had a lot of fun making salmon for their dinner. Six people attended
the class.
• We switched from `Happy Feet" to "Tender Loving Care for You" for our foot care
services. The first day went well.
• 28 new members during this time period. Total membership is 1,133.
