MONTHLY REPORT

APRIL, 2011
• The Minneapolis Guitar Quartet performed a concert on Friday, April 1.
• Paula Lammers and Cloud Nine performed a concert on Saturday, April 2.
• Maria Jette performed a concert on Sunday afternoon, April 3, for the Highview Hills
Coffee Concert series.
• The Minnesota Photography Club held its monthly meeting at the LAAC on Thur., April 7.
• Expressions Community Theater opened is production of The Dixie Swim Club on Friday,
April 8. The production was presented six times over two weekends, closing on April 17.
• The Lakeville Police Department concluded a marriage enrichment program of members
of the department on Friday, April 15.
• A program on historical music was sponsored by the Lakeville History Society on
Monday, April 18.
• Congressman John Kline held a public meeting to recognize volunteers for community
service on Tuesday, April 19.
• Lakeville Liquors presented a program called Bourbon Tasting with the Legendary Fred
Noel on Wednesday, April 20.
• The Lakeville Police Department held a two -day seminar on violent crimes beginning
Wednesday, April 20.
• The Music Staff Studio held a piano and vocal recital on Tuesday, April 26.
• Lorie Line presented a concert as part of her Intimate Evening Spring Tour on Thur., Apr 28.
• The Independence Party of Minnesota held its spring convention in the theater on
Saturday, April 30.
• The Heartbeat Dance Studio held a dance recital on Saturday evening, April 30.
UPCOMING
• The final in the series of coffee concerts will be held on Sunday May 15 featuring
Nirmala Rajasekar.
• Mrs. Minnesota is renting the facility on Saturday, May 21 to hold their spring pageant.
• Ballet Royale is renting the facility for a recital on Sunday, May 22.
• The Plays the Thing Productions is opening School House Rock Live Jr. on Thur, May 26.

• Prepared and held annual Tree Sale
• Reviewed applications, interviewed and hired seasonal staff
• Completed preparation of 2012 & 2013 Capital Outlay Budgets and 5 -year CIP
• Opened bids and awarded contract for construction of Stoneborough Park
Maintenance of Buildings, Park Facilities & General Grounds
• Installed aerator pump and started aeration system at Valley Lake at ice -out
• Installed sandbags in front of retaining wall at Antlers Park
• Fence repairs made throughout system
• Commenced playground inspections and repairs
• Installed fishing piers / boarding docks at ice -out
• Calibrated pump at King Park irrigation system with MTI
• Created and installed King Park irrigation program into central control system
• Prepared Kubota paint sprayer for use
• Installed volleyball / tennis court nets and flags at all locations
• Completed building start -up; activated water in all buildings
• Replaced bulbs at Aronson Park Field #4 lights
• Installed new directional signage at Aronson Park
• Senior Center work orders
• Trimmed trees in District 2
Athletic Fields
• Completed soccer, Lacrosse and baseball / softball field layout and scalping
• Set soccer goals in new locations
• Located 70' base anchors at Aronson; checked pitching rubbers
• Scalped and striped fields
Flowers
• Applied pre- emergent herbicide to planting beds and ID signs

• April 3, Belgian Waffle Breakfast — served 594 people, profited $2,000.
• April 12, Volunteer Recognition Party — 145 attended.
• End of tax assistance — served 370 people from February- April.
• We started the month off with TaylorMarie's Fashion Show. A few of the ladies left the
Center with new summer fashions.
• The Scooter Store brought demo wheelchairs, walkers and handicap accessories for
seniors to try out and purchase.
• The Health Angels Biking Club held their start -up meeting and paid their 2011 -2012
membership dues.
• Organizational meeting for a beginner's biking club and 8 people attended.
• We offered two day -trips this month, and both had enough signed up for the trips to
occur. It appears that trip attendance is picking up.
• Our Singles Club is keeping very active. They meet for happy hour twice per month and
they also took a trip to the Como Park Conservatory.
• 33 new members during this time period. Total membership is 1,180.

• May 9 — Senior Day at St. Croix Casino, Turtle Lake, WI
• May 10 — "Heart Restart" CPR
• May 13 — "The Depression Years" Coffee Lecture
