RESOLUTION NO: 2000-286 MOTION BY: Luick SECONDED BY: Bellows RESOLUTION, ESTABLISHING LATERAL SANITARY .SEWER AND WATERMAIN ACCESS CHARGES FOR 2001 WHEREAS, in certain: areas sanitary sewer and watermain were installed without assessments to benefiting property owners; and WHEREAS, certain properties wish to connect to watermain and/or sanitary sewer for service; and WHEREAS, the. City. desires to recover capital cost for installation of said. watermain and sanitary sewer; and WHEREAS, the City will impose an access charge comparable to lateral watermain or sanitary sewer assessment; and WHEREAS, these access charges are to be updated yearly, according to the Engineering News Record. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of .the City of Lakeville, Minnesota, that the lateral access charges are as follows: 1. Lateral sanitary sewer access. charge - $28.60 per front foot. 2. Lateral water main access charge.- $28.60 per front foot residential. Due"to water main. oversizing in commercial and industrial areas, for fire protection purposes, the access charge to 12 inch and larger water main for non-residential properties will be $33.55 per front foot. 3. Access. charges for existing sanitary sewer and water services shall be $291.40 each in .addition to lateral access charges. If no services exist, it will be the property owner's • responsibility .for construction of the service from the main to the property line in accordance to City standards. 4. For large parcels which could be subdivided in the future, there will be a maximum • access charge for 100 feet of frontage with the remaining frontage charged at the time of future subdivision. 5. Access charges may be paid in cash or assessed subject to the approval of the City Council. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 2000 to be effective January 1, 2001.
