RESOLUTION DATE: August 7, 2000 RESOLUTION NO.: 2000-185 MOTION BY Sindt SECONDED BY: Luick RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONDEMNATION OF PROPERTY FOR PARK PURPOSES WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of Lakeville does hereby determine that it is necessary and for a public use and purpose to acquire the property described on the attached Exhibit A for public park land ("Subject Property"); and WHEREAS, the City has been unable to acquire the Subject Property through negotiation with the landowner; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that growth and development trends throughout the City make it necessary to acquire title to, and possession of, the Subject Property as an expansion to Casperson Park, and such acquisition would be a cost effective use of park development funds; and WHEREAS, the Subject Property has been identified as a community park in the City's year 2000 Comprehensive Park, Trail and Open Space System Plan. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakevile, Minnesota: 1. That the City Attorney is authorized to commence eminent domain proceedings pursuant to Minnesota Statute Chapter 117 to acquire fee title to the property described on the attached Exhibit A.
