DOWNTOWN LAKEVILLE PARKING STUDY WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville contracted with Barton-Aschman Associates on October 18, 1999, for a Downtown Lakeville Parking Study which would inventory, analyze, and make recommendations regarding downtown parking in order to enhance the viability of downtown Lakeville and to facilitate additional economic development; and WHEREAS, representatives of Barton-Aschman Associates and City Staff solicited input from members of the community during the study through:. 1. Interviews with a sample of citizens. and employers 2. An Open House which informed members of the community about the study and solicited feedback on the preliminary results 3. A Review Meeting where members of the community reviewed the findings of the study and expressed their approval of the document; and WHEREAS, members of the Downtown Lakeville Business Association have been an integral part of the study and have expressed their support for its recommendations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota that the Downtown Lakeville Parking Study is hereby received and adopted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that: 1. City staff is directed to work with Barton-Aschman Associates to incorporate Appendices G and H, as well as the modifications identified in the March 6, 2000, Addendum in the final Downtown Lakeville Parking Study report. 2. City Staff is directed to work with the Planning Commission to incorporate the Downtown Lakeville Parking Study recommendations in the update of the Zoning Ordinance currently underway. 3. The City of Lakeville Director of Operations and Maintenance is authorized to proceed. with striping Holyoke Avenue in accordance with the Holyoke Avenue Striping Plan outlined in Appendix G of the Downtown Lakeville Parking Study.. 4. City Staff is directed to work with Barton-Aschman Associates in the development and distribution of a summary of the Downtown Lakeville Parking Study to downtown property .and business owners.
