RESOLUTION REQUESTING CHANGE OF STREET NAME
WHEREAS, a segment. of roadway north of County Road 46 to the northerly
Lakeville city boundary is currently named Kenyon Avenue; and
•
WHEREAS, the subject roadway continuing north into Burnsville and terminating
at County Road 42 is currently named Buck Hill Road; and
.WHEREAS, the segment of roadway north of County Road 46 to the northerly
Lakeville city boundary will be named. Buck HiIL Road to match the existing segment of
Buck Hill Road in Burnsville to provide some logical order and a consistent street name
for this street segment between County Road 42 and County Road 46; and
WHEREAS, the subject segment of roadway in Lakeville currently serves no
existing uses; and
WHEREAS, the segment of the roadway in Burnsville is home to numerous
existing businesses, including Buck Hill Ski Area; and
WHEREAS, renaming this section of roadway will make the location of future
Lakeville businesses along this roadway more readily identifiable; and
WHEREAS, .Dakota County's Uniform Street Naming and Addressing Ordinance
requires therequest for a street name change be submitted to Dakota County in the
form of a City Council resolution; and
•
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Lakeville requests that Dakota County rename the portion of Kenyon Avenue north of
County .Road 46 (162"d Street) to the northerly Lakeville city boundary to Buck Hill
Road.
