HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-145 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION NO. 08~i45 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DAKOTA COUNTY 2009-2013 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, Dakota County has asked cities and townships to request projects for inclusion in the Dakota County 2009 to 2013 Transportation CIP; and WHEREAS, the following transportation projects contained in the County CIP are important to the City of Lakeville: Pro'ect Year CSAH 9 (Dodd Blvd) 195 St. to CSAH 60 (185 St.) (ROW Acquisition) CP 9-36 - 2009 CSAH 9 (Dodd Blvd) CSAH 60 (185 St.) to Hayes Ave. (ROW Acquisition, CP 9-42 - 2009 Construction CSAH 9 (Dodd Blvd) 195 St. to CSAH 60 (185 St.) (Construction) CP 9-36 - 2010 CSAH 9 (Dodd Blvd) CSAH 60 (185 St.) to Hayes Ave. (ROW Acquisition, CP 9-42 - 2010 Construction CSAH 23 (Cedar Ave.) 147 St. to'/< mi. S. CSAH 46 (160 St.) (Construction) CP 23-59 - 2010 CSAH 23 (Cedar Ave.) 179 St. to mi. S. CSAH 46 (160 St.) (Construction) CP 23-70 - 2010 CSAH 50 Jurel/Jubilee to CSAH 60 (185 St.) (Design) CP 50-14 - 2011 CSAH 60 (185 St.) Kenrick/Orchard to Ipava (Design) CP 60-20 - 2011 New CR 9 (Dodd Blvd) Hayes Ave. to CSAH 23 (Cedar Ave.) (Construction) CP 9-43 - 2012 CSAH 50 Jurel/Jubilee to CSAH 60 (185 St.) (ROW Acquisition) CP 50-14 - 2012 CSAH 60 (185 St.) Kenrick/Orchard to Ipava (ROW Acquisition) CP 60-20 - 2012 CSAH 50 Jurel/Jubilee to CSAH 60 (185 St.) (Construction) CP 50-14 - 2013 CSAH 60 (185 St.) Kenrick/Orchard to Ipava (Construction) CP 60-20 - 2013 and WHEREAS, in the last five years the City of Lakeville has financed its share of costs for several County roads and State interchanges, totaling more than $27,500,000; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville has issued debt in the form of general obligation bonds, street reconstruction bonds, and municipal state aid bonds and has raised property taxes to cover its share of costs; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville joined the Metro Taxing District to accommodate BRT services along I-35 and Cedar Avenue necessary for UPA funding; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville reduced its property tax levy to offset the Metropolitan Transit Taxing District increase; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville believes the Cedar Avenue improvements to accommodate BRT are of regional benefit and should be funded without further City cost participation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lakeville hereby supports these projects and requests that these projects be included in the Dakota County 2009-2013 Transportation CIP for construction in the year indicated and financed as follows: • CSAH 9 projects in accordance with current applicable county cost sharing policies including city participation, • CSAH 50 and 60 projects with county, state or federal funding sources, • CSAH 23 projects with county, state or federal funding sources.
