HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-11-76 LAKEVILLE PLANNING CflH~IISSION SPECIAL MEETING 11 NOVEMBER 1976 8:Q0 PM THURSDAY MUNICIPAL BUILDING AIRLAKE INDUSTRIAL PARR This was ~ special meeting called to deal with (1) Tom Thumb Store at Highview Shopping center application for conditional use permit for self-service gas pumps, and (2) upcoming expiration date of moratorium on building of pole-type buildings. All Planning Corrnnission members were present, with the exception of Bohn Asmus. Also present for this meeting was Tom Loucks, of Midwest Planning. Tom Loucks reviewed original concept for self-service gas pumps in front of Tom Thumb Store at Highview Shopping Center, Lakeville, and gave reasons for original grounds for denial, which was due to traffic circulation. Anew concept was then presented by Mr. Loucks, with additional comments by Stan Biggin, Art Leibfried, and John Enggren. Fran Rittenhouse, tenant at the mopping center, said he would be in favor, as long as parking spaces in front of his store were not used, This new concept should not hamper traffic circulation and could add an additional three parking spaces. Loss of parking space was a major concern. If shortage of parking spaces becomes a problem, tenants will park their cars in rear of the Center, behind the stores. 76.163 Motion was made by Spande, seconded by Hazel, to accept the new concept and issue a conditional use permit for self-service gas pumps. All members voted in favor. Motion carried. 76.16+ After a discussion on moratorium , it was decided to accept steel buildings. Motion by Hazel, seconded by Spande, to let moratorium die. .All noted in favor. Motion carried. Meeting was adjourned. Bill Campbell, Secretary
