RESOLUTION NO. 11 -57
Resolution Concerning the Cable Television Board,
Economic Development Commission; Finance Committee;
Lakeville Area Arts Center Board, Planning Commission;
and Parks, Recreation & Natural Resources Committee
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that advisory committee term expiration
dates in March of each year would allow the City Council additional time to advertise
vacancies and interview candidates while advisory committees performed their duties with
optimal membership.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville, Minnesota:
Cable Television Board: Terms of office shall begin on April 1 and expire on March
31 of the years coinciding with the members' respective terms. Required attendance
of Cable TV Board members shall be calculated on each term year, April 1 through
March 31. Terms of members currently serving on the Cable TV Board will be
extended to March 31 unless a letter of resignation is submitted.
Economic Development Commission: Terms of office shall begin on April 1 and
expire on March 31 of the years coinciding with the members' respective terms.
Required attendance of EDC members shall be calculated on each term year, April 1
through March 31. Terms of members currently serving on the EDC will be
extended to March 31 unless a letter of resignation is submitted. A Chairperson,
Vice Chairperson, and Secretary shall be elected at the first meeting of the term year.
Finance Committee: Terms of office shall begin on April 1 and expire on March 31
of the years coinciding with the members' respective terms. Three of the initial
committee members shall be appointed to three -year terms, two shall be appointed to
two -year terms, and two shall be appointed to one -year terms. Subsequent terms will
be three years.
Lakeville Area Arts Center Board: Terms of office shall begin on April 1 and expire
on March 31 of the years coinciding with the members' respective terms. Required
attendance of LAAC Board members shall be calculated on each term year, April 1
through March 31. Terms of members currently serving on the LAAC Board will be
extended to March 31 unless a letter of resignation is submitted. A Chairperson, Vice
Chairperson, and Secretary shall be elected at the first meeting of the term year.
Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Committee: Terms of office shall begin
on April 1 and expire on March 31 of the years coinciding with the members'
respective terms. Required attendance of Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources
Committee members shall be calculated on each term year. Terms of members
currently serving on the Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Committee will be
extended to March 31 unless a letter of resignation is submitted.
Planning Commission: Terms of office shall begin on April 1 and expire on March
31 of the years coinciding with the members' respective terms. Required attendance
of Planning Commission members shall be calculated on each term year.
Chairperson and Vice Chairperson shall be elected at the first meeting of the term
year. Terms of members currently serving on the Planning Commission will be
extended to March 31 unless a letter of resignation is submitted.
This resolution supersedes language in Resolution 94 -41 relating to the EDC; Resolution 03-
54 relating to the Lakeville Area Arts Center Board, and Resolution 02 -269 relating to the
Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Committee.
