JULY 2011
South Metro Jazz continued its summer institute throughout July.
Expressions Community theater rehearsed its summer production,
throughout July.
Pan-O-Prog activities within the LAAC building included the POP Talent Show on
Saturday, July 9; POP Puppets on Thursday, July 7; POP Flower Show on Saturday, July
9; and the POP Queen’s Brunch for visiting royalty representing their communities in the
POP parade on Saturday, July 9.
Outdoor activities on the LAAC lawn and parking lot included an inflatable carnival,
family fun fair, petting zoo, Teddy Bear Band and concessions.
Classes at the LAAC during July included Garden Art, Pottery Sampler, Mini-Masters
Painting, Summer Pottery, Messy Hands, Whimsical Teapots, Cartoon Drawing, My
Dishes, Adaptive Jewelry, and open studio for potters and painters.
Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre opened its camp on Monday, July 18 and ended the week
with two performances of on Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23.
The weekend of July 29-31 was rented by Hosanna! Church for the purposes of a
community-wide pre-marriage seminar.
The LAAC classroom was rented for a wedding shower on Saturday, July 30.
The gallery exhibit for the month of July was the Minnesota Contemporary Quilters.

July 5 – Pan-O-Prog Baby Crawl; 21 babies registered.
July 8-9 – Pan-O-Prog Bazaar and Bake Sale. The seniors and community enjoyed the
Pan-O-Prog Bazaar and Bake Sale. Crafters were pleased, as they did well financially. A
woman from the community called after the bazaar to find out when our next craft show
will be, as she enjoyed shopping at ours and told her friends about it.
July 26 – Antique Appraisal Road Show. Twenty-two seniors brought in 67 items for
appraisal to this fun event. One woman discovered that her teddy bear is worth $1,000
and another woman’s pitcher is worth $4,500-$60,000!
The seniors took a trip to tour Target Field.
The seniors also took a cruise on Lake Minnetonka.
The singles group traveled to Harriet Island for a cruise and lunch. The diners group
dined at the Chart House in Lakeville.
The motorcycle group finally got to complete a ride. They’ve only been able to ride twice
so far this season due to rain and extreme heat. The same is true for beginners biking.
Our sewing circle was pleased, as they had made a total of 128 diapers that went to
Haiti this month.
11 new members during this time period. Total membership is 956 (new and renewed).
