HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-27-73 r MINUTES OF THE RHGULAR MEETING OF THE LAKE~'ILLE PLANNING COMMISSION THURSDAY 9/27;3 In the absence of Chairman Henry Lau, the meeting was called to order by Vi.ce- Chairman Joel Haglund. Haglund, Dunham, Hrandes, and Lutgens answered roll--absent were Lau, Antolik, and VanBellinger. Time meeting was called to order was:8;00 PM Minutes of the September 13th meeting were read. Haglund requested that a street number be located for Mr. Sthultz~s address. 8randes and Lutgens made and seconded the motion to then accept the minutes as read. Motion carried. (Schultz house address is 11195 172nd St W.) 105. Public hearin rr of Jeanne M. Helstrom, 6ondi.tior~al use permit for beauty shop i~r er Dore rfi VaL1ey Park at 7160 167th Ct W, was held. Mrs. Helstram stated this was to be a hobby more than a business, strictly a one-operator shop. Lutgens made the motion to grant oonditional use pex~ni.t, one-chair operation, for time limit of two years.. Dunham 2nd. Motion carried. 10b. Public hearing far Shiloh Ranch (Mr. Mcq.usky), placing;and kee,~p~ a mobile obi me ash & Highvzew Avenues, was heard. Mr. McC3.usky stated that they needed the home for a resident trainer and manager, especially since. recent burglaries, and they plan to build a mall house at a later date. Brander made moti.an to grant this permit, license expires January 1, 197,x. .Lutgens 2nd. Motion carried. 107. Pabli.c hearing of Turner IIzterprises far conditional use ,permit far outside storage on land zoned I - 1B, at $~70 210th St,tKris Austad Hatchery building}, was heard. Brander made motion to grant conditional use permit, however if outside storage does occur after Johnson Office Building is completed, there • would be fencing or screening installed so the Johnson property would be nsi.ght- protected" from the West--time limit of one year. Dunham 2nd. Motian carried. I08. Public hearin~of Process Control Corp. to erect 60 ft high storage silos was helcT.~This is to be done an property owned by ITT Thermotech Division of International Telephone and Telegraph Carp. at Airlake Industrial Park.} These silos will be used to store raw material (plastic granules). Fire chief Joe Marek was present, and gave an opinion that this storage would not be a fire hazard. These silos would be welded steel, l2 ft 3n diameter. Brandes made oration to a rove the application for two silos, if well-painted, event- ually. Lutgens 2nd. Motion carried. 109. Mr. Coawert, "The Platen, presented building plans for the addition to his building. (This was first brought to attention an August 30th--Iteru No. 90.) Brander made motion to grant building permit, subject to Building Inspector's approval. Lutgens 2nd. Motion tarried. Mr. Pat Farrell and Mr. Joe Marek and the Planning Commission discussed the storage of wrecked cars at the Junction of 3~W Freeway and Co Rd .Planner Lee Starr attended this meeting. He had written a letter to Commission m~nbers, proposing that in areas where public sewer is not available, certain rules should apply to govern the size of Tats--particularly sail conditions. It was suggested to be certain that each Planning Commission member, and also ~igineer Bob Frigard, have a copy of Start's recommendations. The question arose, also, ~twhat does Dakota County requisen? After Mr. Frigard receives a copy of Start's recommenda- bons, and has a chants to look them over, the Commission hopes to have his opinion by October 11th meeting. It was his thought that press notice should be given to inform people of these proposed meetings. It was determined that the 3rd Monday in October should be the initial meeting, a,f this has the Building Inspector's approval. Haglund and Brander will be present at the Council meeting on Monday, October 1st, and will read September 13th minutes of the Planning Commission.
