The meeting was Dolled to order by Mr. Hsazry Lau at 8 P.M. Answering roll call
.wares nunham, Brander, Lau, Antolik, and Haglund. Stanley and VanBellinger
were absent..
Motion to approve the minutes of the July 13th meeting was made by Branda~s,
seconded by Antolik. Motion was carried.
1- Public hearing to consider the application of Signcraftera (represented
by Mr. t~arles Peugh} for variance to height of .sign at the I-35 Truck
Stop, located at the function of highways I-3,~ and ~4 was heard. Theis
wish. is for ahigh-rise sign of ~s to re-plac® one at .this earner.
Haglund made the motion to approve this variance of hei.~t and Brander
seconded the motion. Motion was carried.:

2. Mrs. Marguerite Ruth $prd was the applicant at a publichearing to
c~ns,der the building. and constructing of a pre-fob Wausau H~® on
land legally described as Lots q and lO, Liberty Heights, Sec.. ~`,x'T114
R21~.-0rcharci Lake,•Judical Road and 168th Street. The building..in-
spector feels that this home. should be located 40' from the edge of the
.road, Mrs. f~grd mould like soma backyard. The hill at the rear of this
excavation is huge and steep. Brander. made the motion to grant Mrs.
Byrd a building permit, subject to building inspectar~s approval. An-
tali.k seconded the motion. Motion was carried.
3- Public hearing was held to consider the application of Mr, dames Jolulson
for variances-to garage size and build below grade on land described as
Lot 12, 131ock 1, Oak Shore 3rd Add., Oak Shore Dr3.ve, Crystal Lake.
This is to be a 3-stall, attached garag®. There are trees involved, but
primarily a-.very large Cottonwood. Mr. dalmson states that at its lowest
corners the garage mould be from 3~ to below the crbsan of: the road..
Hrandes made the motion to grant the variance to take Dare of the below
;made situation. Aulham seconded. Motion was carried. Haglund made
the motion to grant the variance as to the. size of the garages; Dunham
seconded.. Motion was carried.
4- Mr. idn. F. T. Busch and Mr. G. C. Grussendorf of Orchard Lake appeaared
withadditional information about their proposed .garages. There is a
.Boulevard that the Council did not know about when the garage plans
were returned to the Planning Commission because of the safety..factor
involved in ~aa.cking onto the road. Brander. made the motion that Mr.
Busch. and Mar. Grussendorf appear at the.Oouncil meeting to see if' this
additional makes a difference in their fee].in~ about this situation..
Antol3k seconded the motion. Motion was carried.
Mr. Tina ~iaeg, applicant at a public hearing duly 13th, appeared for a
decision on his application for variance to subdivision and ordinance
as to lot sire on land at Orchard Lake. It was the opinion of Mr. Grannie,
TII, that the Village Attorney and Mr. Haegss attorney should mast to
straighta~aoutthe road problem that exists. Haglund made the motion
to grant variance, sub3ect to Iegal matter and ~,gineerss approval.
Brander seconded. Motion was .carried. - After a discussion with Mr.
Ackex~nan it was reported to the Commission that Mr, Haag had decided
not to subdivide. Brander made the motion, seconded by Haglund, to
withdraw the. previous motion. Motion was carried.

6- Mr. Qail Uav3.s, representative of W3ldwood Ponds, Mr. Hob Clark=s property
on Highway near the Scott Co. line appeared with the drawing he had
..presented at the May 2,~th meeting. Ie stated that he had tour~l this
ProP~St' with four. other .Commission members and had their approval t4
go ahead with his plans, There was-a mi.sunderstandin~ here, however,
as Park and Rec Comm. had expected Mr. Dav3.s at their July 26th meeting...
This is not a Planned unit developm~t. Mr. Davis is contemplating rs'
zoning of 12A located at the southern line of this property for small
shops, not necessarily a shopping canter. Brands~aawill contact the Park
and Rec chairman, and a letter is to be written Mr. Avis with more in-
formation before our next meeting, August lath, in order to try to faail-
tate :matters far b3m. Mr. ~,ee Sitarr, planner, will examine t~i7.dwood
P~nd~s drawing meanwhile.
7- Mr. Ross Bassett appeared with a prel3mixiary plan for additional develop
meat to his properties on Lake Marion. Motion to approve the plan, s3uub..
3etat to Park and Rec and -Water .and Hewer Coapm~.ssiont s decisions, was
made by Haglund, seconded by Brandes. motion was carried.
Suggestion that seas form far applicants to take to various ss~u3,ssions so each
c~cxnmi~.ssion is more aware of the other's decisions is to be put into. effect as
soon: as possible.
Mr. H. Larson, Dakota Co. ~irvsyor, esxplained how his office wishes to work with'
building. plans 3n Takata Cc.--in "a technical sense, not a plaa~n3,ng, eensep.
A latter has bean received from Mr. Pat Farrell, Village. Attorney, recom~aending
• approval of this plan. .There ,is no charge for this service. and tams sleme~nt for
esxamining plans is short, at least as this is being considered. Brander made
the motion that a recamms~ndation be made to the Council that Pillage of Lakeville
have Dakota Gb. Surveyo check plans. Antolik seconded the motion. Motion was
carried,
.Motion to adjourn the meeting was made by ,Raglhnd, seconded by Brander. Motion
